OEM Microphone Windscreens – Developed and Manufactured in Germany
Schulze-Brakel has been designing and manufacturing microphone windscreens for more than 50 years – as OEM partner to leading microphone manufacturers worldwide. Production takes place in our own ISO 9001 certified plant in Germany: from a few hundred pieces to large series – around 500,000 windscreens per year – with short development and delivery times.

More than 50 years of experience in designing and manufacturing windscreens
We have been developing and manufacturing microphone windscreens since 1967. This experience goes into every project: we know how shape, wall thickness and foam have to work together so that wind and pop noise are effectively reduced while the sound of the microphone stays as natural as possible.
We support you from the first idea through samples to series production – as a manufacturer with in-house development and production, not as a trader.

References: OEM partner to leading microphone manufacturers worldwide
Leading microphone manufacturers around the world equip their microphones with Schulze-Brakel windscreens as original equipment. We deliver to more than 90 countries.
Whether lavalier, headset, handheld, studio or shotgun microphone: we develop the windscreen to fit your microphone precisely. We are happy to share specific references in a personal conversation.
Made in Germany from open-cell polyurethane foams
All windscreens are produced in our own 2,500 m² production facility in Germany. We process open-cell polyurethane foams (PU foam) from leading foam manufacturers. The open cell structure lets sound pass through while slowing down air flow – the basis for effective wind protection.
Our SchulzFoam has more than 99 percent open pores. Our quality management is ISO 9001 certified.
Quantities from a few hundred pieces to large series
Whether a small batch for a new microphone, a pilot run for market testing or large-scale production for original equipment: we produce economically from a few hundred pieces – with an annual output of around 500,000 windscreens.
Because development and production are located in the same plant, quality and dimensional accuracy remain consistent across repeat orders.

Short development and delivery times, low tooling costs
Flexible manufacturing technologies make the difference: many shapes are produced by CNC-controlled contour cutting and milling – without complex moulding tools. This reduces your development and tooling costs and shortens the time to the first sample.
In series production, too, you benefit from short delivery times because development, manufacturing and finishing are under one roof.
Finishing and processing from a single source
In addition to the windscreen itself, we handle all further processing – so you receive a ready-to-install part from a single source:
- Flocking – velvety, high-quality surfaces
- Dyeing – matched to your brand colour
- Printing – logos and markings, e.g. by screen printing or DTF
- Cutting – precise contours by CNC
- Die-cutting – economical for flat parts in series
- Laser processing – fine contours and cut-outs
Catalogue: a selection of our standard shapes
Around 500 standard shapes are available as a starting point – sorted by height and basic shape (round, square, triangular). If no standard shape fits, we develop a custom shape based on your drawing or your microphone.
